Waited almost a week after painting and Sandy before applying polycrylic. When applying polycrylic the darker colors bled into the off white paint. One color was an off white, then made polka dots with darker colors. Also I painted a child’s rocker with multi colors of Waverly chalk paint. I’m concerned about this and why it happened. Painted legs 2 days ago and taped today to pain top. I took the painters tape off tonight and it took spots of the mineral color paint off. I taped the legs cuz I had already painted them mineral color before painting the top. I used mineral color on legs and truffle on top. Problem I have had is with a small end table I bought at a sale. I have bought a jar of Dixie Belle on sale but have not used yet. I have used no other chalk paint to compare. I am using Waverly on my first pieces of chalk painting. What do you think? Love It? Hate it? Have you given this brand a try? Comment below and let me know your thoughts. I love how this turned out!!! I even ended up keeping the original hardware because it seemed to fit the piece perfectly. Overall, I was very very impressed with this brand, and will be using it again in the future. I did have to paint on two full coats of the crystal color, but there were also many nooks and crannies in the details of the wood.Īfter the paint is just some light sanding where you want the aged/vintage look, and some of their clear wax to coat and protect it! This paint has such great coverage that one coat and a few touch ups here and there did the trick for the top and drawers. You could add a little water if you wanted to, but I didn’t feel as though it needed it. This was after just ONE coat! A little goes a long way with this stuff because it is pretty thick. The only prepping I did beforehand was to make sure all dust, dirt, and debris were removed from the piece with a quick wipe down…. It’s almost white with just a little hint of blue, very pretty. I decided to go with a deeper shade called elephant for the top and drawers, and a lighter color called crystal for the rest. The great thing about this paint is that there is absolutely NO PREP WORK! And as if that didn’t have me sold, the colors are beautiful too! (Sorry for the crummy before picture, yuck.) I found this side table at a yard sale, and although I loved the shape, I wasn’t too crazy about the outdated oak color. It seems they have partnered with Plaid craft paints and for the affordable price of around $5, I figured the worst that could happen is I would have to sand off some paint and toss the jar. I’m probably the last one to discover this too, ha ha. So I have just recently discovered that Walmart carries a very affordable brand of chalk paint by Waverly Inspirations.
