The company was founded and is currently operated by former military personnel. When a company can't pick up their phone, and it takes six weeks to sharpen a knife, that is not a small under staffed company, you know there is something else wrong.Strider Knives is a privately owned and operated company devoted solely to the development and construction of edged tools designed to survive use in the harshest of conditions. Reading some of the other posts here, others have had similar issues. Something to remember, is we pay for warranties, they are in no way free at all, you pay in advance for a warranty! They are defacto insurance policies, and for companies to laugh it off I'd just wrong, and they are liable. I have my custom knives from the makers who care and that is what I will be using from here on out. If he did not have the part, he should have leveled with me and made good somehow, come on Mick. Vessel just to be done with this company, and their no answering of phone calls, no replies to e-mails, and hey, don't pull that love affair you guy's have with this guy, I loved his products too, and spent a fortune on them.however, enough is enough.įor me, I had no service after the sale. ![]() I had collected many other SnG's which still worked and I gave them all away to sailors the last time I was aboard a USNS. ![]() What makes this more difficult is it was a gift from my wife, otherwise it would be dumped as a useless tool. If there are any knife makers who can machine me a new pivot I will pay them top dollar. Sad, I thought it was a great knife, but when the owner lies to your face at a show.well it is time to do something. I can't sell the knife in good faith, no way I would give it to an enlisted man or woman, so I guess I will put the dam thing in a 10 ton crusher, just to be rid of it. I have a knife I use in military missions as an embedded photographer, and I can't take it apart for service. Guess what? He does not have the spare parts! I spoke to Dan at Plaza cutlery where I have dropped some money over the years, with no results, not his fault, I have always liked Dan so I will leave him out of this.įact: Strider's warranty I'd say is just useless. After six weeks the knife came back with grease on the pivot, and in a filthy zip loc bag, same stripped Torx. Then at the Plaza Cutlery Show, I spoke to Mick, and told him I can't disassemble the knife, his response was he would have to charge me like $15.00 for a new Torx pivot. I have a Pink PT, and the Torx they have on the pivot is way too small, and it stripped during disassembly Job, left it with Josh at the 2012 USN event in Las Vegas, with a verbal and written explanation to replace the Torx side, and after five weeks all I got was a sharpened knife.
